Conclusions

So there you have it. Hopefully you now have a better idea of what instruments are available, what they can do, how much they cost, and who makes them.

A few final points:

• Have a look around the manufacturers websites, go to a local showroom or two and try out some instruments, and see what you like.
• Don’t be afraid to negotiate a better deal on new equipment.
• Buying online can be cheaper, but make sure you know exactly what you’re getting.
• If you’re buying a present for someone else, it’s usually better to take them with you. What might be lost on the surprise element is gained in getting something they really want.
• Enjoy looking, choosing, then buying and playing (or giving away) your new instrument!

Go and get a great deal!
