Alesis Drums and Zildjian have announced a partnership which unites an iconic name in cymbal sound with a modern pioneer of percussion technology. The result is greater realism, nuance and inspiration to drummers using Alesis‘ electronic percussion.
Zildjian has been crafting cymbals, drumsticks and percussion since 1623 and has created world-renowned cymbals in its Artist Vault — historically reserved for official Zildjian artists to shape their signature sound.
Alesis — known for its electronic percussion and drum kits, including the Strata and Nitro range plus speciality kits — together with industry-renowned BFD Drums, has selected and recorded cymbals in stunning detail, bringing these sounds to drummers anywhere.
Alesis and BFD users will gain access to a new collection of exclusive Zildjian sound expansion packs, with the Zildjian Session Mix Volume 1 available now, and new expansions arriving late August and then regularly throughout the year.
Sound packs are available across BFD Player, BFD 3.5, and Alesis Strata modules.
“The Artist Vault is sacred ground—for decades this is where the world’s greatest drummers have come to choose their cymbals and find inspiration,” said Michael Weber (Director of Marketing, Alesis Drums) “Capturing them with the BFD team’s meticulous sampling process means that when an Alesis player strikes a cymbal, they’re experiencing the nuanced sound of those cymbals, with all the depth and character that makes a Zildjian a Zildjian.”
