AtomoSynth has announced the new Mochika X7, a rebirth of the classic Mochika sound combined with extensive modulation capabilities and a new ‘modulatable’ onboard delay effect.

Available as both Eurorack and standalone desktop version, it features the classic square and saw analog oscillator, noise oscillator, and “always in tune” digitally controlled oscillator with square, saw, triangle and sine waveforms — along with the classic AtomoSynth vactrol filter.
A new 32-step sequencer features four parameters per step: step on/off, pitch, gate time/retrigger, and step repetition/skip, for more creative possibilities.
There’s a high-contrast OLED display, eight rotary encoders with push buttons, so it’s easier to see and edit the global sequencer options and all parameters in real time.
Also a 100-slot non-volatile memory for pattern storage.
The sequencer can be synced with an external or MIDI clock, or USB MIDI clock, or controlled by any external MIDI device.
There are nine creative playing modes: forward, reverse, ping-pong, random, drunk, step-trigger polyrhythm, experimental worm sequence, scrub playing, and MIDI control mode.
Built with high quality components, high-precision SMD technology, and (for desktop) a compact 3D-printed case.
It’s not quite ready for launch yet — it’s expected after October. You can join the waitlist. Pricing at $449 for desktop and $389 for Eurorack. Early prices $399/$349.
