Behringer has announced the launch of its STEPS multi-source modulation and sequencer module for Eurorack.
STEPS is a six-stage function generator that can be configured in various way to generate different types of modulation.
It can create intricate LFO wave shapes, sequences, envelopes and more, with high level of complexity possible.
Patching a signal into one of the gate inputs of STEPS groups any gate to the right of it into the envelope. For example, if you patch into gate 3, then gates 4, 5 and 6 are included, creating a 4-stage envelope. Patching into gate 6 will give you a single segment envelope or you can go crazy and patch into all 6 gates and output them to any module of your choice to create six single stage envelopes. You can even chain 6 STEP modules together to get a whopping 36 segments to experiment with incredible and super complex envelopes.
Each segment of steps has three modes — ramp, hold and step — which determines how the output reaches the target voltage. These are controlled and modified via the segment’s corresponding potentiometer and slider.
