Not that dissimilar from one of the keyboards we featured in our Temu trawl, this little keyboard instrument from China has left us wondering exactly what’s going on.
I’m very interested in alternative musical instruments and not everything needs to look or behave like a piano keyboard, but when something looks as close as this, but isn’t quite right, it has me a little flummoxed.

The listing we found this on describes it as a 9-key pocket piano. Clearly it has fifteen keys — eight white keys and, errrr, seven black keys.
Yes, whichever way you look at it, there are two extra black keys — compared to a real piano keyboard that is.
According to one review of this, that is irrelevant to this keyboard because the black notes simply play an octave higher than the white keys. All the notes are naturals.

Added to which, the sounds are ‘silly’ and there’s no way to adjust the volume.
The photos show two versions, one with white keys and the other with multi-coloured keys. There’s a little stand which can be used for your phone, or perhaps a calendar…
Yes, the photo suggests this is really a calendar.
