XLN Audio has announced the launch of its DB-30 Drum Butter plugin tool, built around the premise that “drums should be fun”.
Drum Butter combines six high-quality effects modules for applying attack, tone shaping, texture, space and more to drum tracks — or in fact any audio track.
Modules
Boom Shack
A synthesised layering engine adding tone to kick drums and bite to snares. Noise layers can be layered in from other sources and then pitch matched, adding envelope, filtering and tone alterations.
Shift
A pitch shifter for blending between frequency and formant shifting, giving a lot of control over the output audio. It’s also possible to invert the polarity of the frequency control, for creative pitching.
Space
Designed for placing drums within the sound space, with presets including tight studios to spacious and creative textures.
Compress
A quick way to compress drums with specific optimisations.
Saturate
Offers a variety of ‘flavours’ including tape mode, ‘flub’ and more.
More
Lets you worked on the perceived loudness of the drum tracks.
