ERAE Touch polyphonic MIDI 2.0 controller: highly configurable silicone touch LED display, made for performance

ERAE Touch has shown off its newest, fully MIDI 2.0 compatible, highly configurable controller surface. It combines a powerful LED panel, silicone touch surface, polyphonic control, highly customisable drag-and-drop elements, 1000 high quality force sensitive resistors for intricate, subtle, nuanced control, a blazing 1ms response time thanks to five onboard processors, and easy to transport and hook up to other gear.

It comes with its own configuration software allowing templates to be used, shared, built—shaping the control surface to exactly how the musician and performer wish it to be.

Although triggering by finger touch is a given, the manual suggests it is versatile enough to be used with percussion mallets, drum sticks or ‘anything that comes to your mind’.

The Touch can support 3D tracking of up to ten simultaneous points of contact, and allows for control over such things as vibrato, portamento and aftertouch.

A wide range of elements can be added to the device to emulate faders, XYZ pads, isomorphic grids, multi-track step sequencers, and more.

As you’d expect, it’s going to work very well with Ableton Live software, but as a controller device it can be configured to work well with many other DAWs and instruments.
