GM LAB add Rondò, X-1000 and Pico-Synth synths

GM Lab has announced three new synth projects, all available either ready-made or in kit form to be built at home.

Rondò

Rondò is a simulation of a classic string machine, taking inspiration from famous ’70s keyboards including the ARP Solina, the Logan String Melody and the SIEL Orchestra.

It offers three string registers plus one bass, classic a track-release envelope generator with break-point, vibrato and classic chorus/flanger effect which gives a distinctive ‘shimmer’ t the sound, plus a classic 4-stage phaser effect. Available for $/€199 prebuilt or $/€179 as kit.

X-1000

X-1000 is a monophonic synth inspired by the JEN SX1000. It uses a single Raspberry Pi Pico board capable of playing the whole synth structure, which is comprised of one oscillator and noise generator, one filter, two envelopes and one LFO generator. It’s also MIDI capable. Available for $/€179 prebuilt or $/€139 as kit.

Pico-Synth

The Pico-Synth is an expanded version of the X-1000 using two Raspberry Pi Pico boards, splitting the work of sound generation and MIDI/panel management. It offers two oscillators with sync, one filter, one LFO, one envelope with pitch modulation, a delay unit and a built-in preset management. Available for $/€199 prebuilt or $/€159 as kit.
