The Casio CZ-230S is a synthesizer released in 1986. It is aimed at musicians wanting to create and modify their own sounds.
The CZ-230S has 49 synth/organ style mini keys without touch sensitivity or aftertouch. It has eight notes of polyphony. It has 100 on board sounds but no acoustic piano sounds, accompaniments and rhythms, and no pedals.
It has built-in MIDI capabilities. It has no built-in learning system. It has a built-in amplifier and speakers. It can run from both AC and battery power. It's very much an entry level model, making it cheaper but also with fewer functions or lower quality sounds than more expensive keyboards. It's a part of the CZ family of instruments, whose models spanned from 1984 to 1986. It's one of the very last models released before the CZ family stopped new models in 1986.
