Overview

The Kawai CA95 is a digital piano released in 2013. It is aimed at those primarily wanting a quality piano sound and keyboard feel.

The CA95 has 88 fully weighted full sized keys with touch sensitivity but no aftertouch. It has 256 notes of polyphony, which is excellent for a digital piano. It has 80 on board sounds including pianos and real world sounds, and a sustain/damper pedal.

It has the ability to record and play back user performances. It has built-in MIDI capabilities. It offers an on-board learning system. It has no built-in speakers which means you will have to connect it to external amplification and speakers in order to hear it. It runs from AC power.

The Concert Artist series will transform all notions of how good digital pianos can be. From the latest in sound technology and action design, to its innovative Soundboard Speaker System, the CA95 captures the essence of playing a fine concert grand piano.

Main Features

Tone

Concert Artist instruments feature Kawai’s new Harmonic Imaging XL with 88-key piano sampling. This unique technology, which uses extra long piano sampling, creates sounds with an extremely high level of detail, clarity and realism.

Touch

For Touch, the CA series uses the new Grand Feel (GF) action with Let-off. This action uses real wooden keys with Ivory Touch key surfaces, a triple sensor system and features a new mechanical design with a key pivot length that is the same as a grand piano’s key.

Soundboard Speaker System

The CA95 is the world’s only digital piano that uses a real wooden soundboard to create its sound. This unique approach creates sound that is rich, warm and non-directional, offering a playing experience that is closer to that of an acoustic instrument.

Acoustic Piano Design

Kawai’s acoustic and digital piano designers teamed up to give the CA95 a distinctly acoustic piano flavor. In addition to the elegantly tapered legs mounted in a wooden toe block, you’ll find an adjustable music rack and the innovative cheekblock control panel, which preserves the instrument’s piano-like appearance.

Studio-quality Sounds

The CA95 has a broad selection of studio quality instrumental sounds including multiple acoustic pianos, vintage electric pianos, pipe and drawbar organs, plus stringed and orchestral instruments.

Keyboard Modes

Any two sounds can be played on the keyboard simultaneously and there is a Split mode where two different instrument sounds can be played on opposite sides of the keyboard. There is also a special Four-Hands mode that splits the keyboard into two identical 44-note pianos.

USB Audio and Storage

USB to Device and Host capabilities provide a world of opportunity, including recording and playing digital audio, storing songs, playing MIDI song files and connectivity to computers.

Concert Magic

This exclusive feature lets anyone enjoy the thrill of playing the piano, even if you’ve never played before.

Hymn Player

The unique Hymn Player features 88 classic hymns that can be played automatically or via Concert Magic… perfect for when a pianist is unavailable for a service or gathering.

Built-in Piano Music

The CA95 and CA65 digital pianos feature a selection of popular classical piano music – approximately two hours in all.

Lessons and Exercises

With every Concert Artist instrument comes the first year’s lesson songs from Alfred Publishing’s Basic Piano Course 1, Premier Course 1 and Adult Course 1.

We’ve also included the printed music and recordings for time-tested finger exercises such as scales, arpeggios and Hanon songs.

Virtual Technician

A skilled piano technician can personalize an acoustic piano’s sound and touch response. Kawai’s exclusive Virtual Technician feature does the same for the Concert Artist digital pianos.

Grand Feel Pedal System

Further enhancing the Concert Artist’s realism, this new system reproduces the individual weighting of the damper, sostenuto and una corda pedals of the Kawai EX concert grand.

Jacks and Connections
