Overview

The Kawai CN23 is a digital piano released in 2011. It is aimed at those primarily wanting a quality piano sound and keyboard feel.

The CN23 has 88 fully weighted full sized keys with touch sensitivity but no aftertouch. It has 96 notes of polyphony. It has 15 on board sounds including pianos and real world sounds, and a sustain/damper pedal.

The CN23 uses Kawai's Progressive Harmonic Imaging, for dynamic multi-sampled pianos, offering extremely detailed velocity layers for authentic acoustic piano realism.

It has the ability to record and play back user performances. It has built-in MIDI capabilities. It offers an on-board learning system. It has no built-in speakers which means you will have to connect it to external amplification and speakers in order to hear it. It runs from AC power.

Tone

The CN23 features the newest version of our acclaimed sound technology - Progressive Harmonic Imaging with 88-key piano sampling. This exclusive technology creates sounds with amazing detail and clarity.

Touch

The CN23 employs the new Responsive Hammer (RH) action with Ivory Touch key surfaces. It’s an 88-note, graded hammer action with superb feel and sensitivity.

Dual and 4-Hands Modes

All CN series instruments have a Dual Mode in which two sounds are played at the same time. The unique 4-Hands Mode splits the keyboard into two identical 44-note pianos – great for group piano lessons or for duets.

Sliding Key Cover

All Kawai CN models have built-in sliding key covers to protect the keyboard from dust and debris when the instrument is not in use.

Pedals

All CN models feature three pedals – soft, sostenuto, and damper (with half-damper capability) – that function just like the pedals found on our grand pianos.

Metronome

All three CN models offer a handy built-in digital metronome with a variety of time signatures and adjustable tempo… perfect for practice.
