Overview

The Kawai CN33 is a digital piano released in 2011. It is aimed at those primarily wanting a quality piano sound and keyboard feel.

The CN33 has 88 fully weighted full sized keys with touch sensitivity but no aftertouch. It has 96 notes of polyphony. It has 36 on board sounds including pianos and real world sounds, and a sustain/damper pedal.

The CN33 uses Kawai's Progressive Harmonic Imaging, for dynamic multi-sampled pianos, offering extremely detailed velocity layers for authentic acoustic piano realism.

It has the ability to record and play back user performances. It has built-in MIDI capabilities. It offers an on-board learning system. It has no built-in speakers which means you will have to connect it to external amplification and speakers in order to hear it. It runs from AC power.

Dual and 4-Hands Modes

All CN series instruments have a Dual Mode in which two sounds are played at the same time. The unique 4-Hands Mode splits the keyboard into two identical 44-note pianos – great for group piano lessons or for duets.

Split Mode

The CN33 also offers a Split mode in which one sound plays on the left of the keyboard and another sound plays on the right side.

Balance Slider

The CN33 has a unique Balance Slider, right on the panel. Use the slider to control the volume balance between two sounds in both Dual and Split keyboard modes.

Sliding Key Cover

All Kawai CN models have built-in sliding key covers to protect the keyboard from dust and debris when the instrument is not in use.

Pedals

All CN models have three pedals – soft, sostenuto, and damper (with half-damper capability) – that function just like the pedals found on our grand pianos.

Metronome

All three CN models offer a handy built-in digital metronome with a variety of time signatures and adjustable tempo… perfect for practice. The CN33 can also control the volume of the metronome.

Alfred Lesson Songs

All 3 CN models have built-in lesson songs from Alfred Publishing's top piano method books. The CN33 features songs from the two most popular children's first-year method books.

Concert Magic

All CN models feature Kawai's exclusive Concert Magic, a unique way for anyone to enjoy the thrill of playing the piano, even if you've never played before!

Recorder

The CN33 features an easy to use 2-Track / 3-Song recorder that is ideal for self evaluation or capturing a moment of inspiration.

The CN33's USB to Device capability allows for the storage of performances to USB memory devices. You can play previously recorded performances and MIDI files from USB.

Jacks

All CN models come with MIDI jacks useful for connecting with other musical instruments and computers. The CN33 also features stereo Line In and Line Out jacks, plus a USB jack and two headphone jacks.
