Description

Kawai MP6: The Evolution Continues

Following in the footsteps of its popular predecessor, the MP6 is a powerful, yet portable, 4-zone MIDI controller and stage piano. Updated with new sound technology and keyboard action, plus USB audio, the MP6 is ideal for the pro on the go.

Touch

The MP6 employs the new Responsive Hammer (RH) action with Let-off and Ivory Touch key surfaces. It's an 88-note, graded hammer action with superb feel and sensitivity.

Tone

The MP6 utilizes Kawai's new Progressive Harmonic Imaging Sound Technology with 88-key sampling to create its impressive collection of new concert grand piano sounds. In all, the MP6 has 256 instrument sounds.

Vintage Electric Pianos

The MP6 offers new vintage Tine, Reed and Clavi sounds painstakingly sampled from actual instruments. The new amp simulator adds to the richness and authenticity of these sounds.

Tonewheel Organ Generator

In addition to sample based drawbar organ sounds, the MP6 boasts a new Tonewheel Organ generator. Dial up your favorite classic setting and add in the Rotary Speaker effect and you're ready to rock.

USB Audio

New USB Audio functionality provides the ability to record and play both MP3 and WAV audio files using a USB device. This is perfect for recording a sudden inspiration or performing along with prerecorded backing tracks.

4-Zone Controller

The MP6 functions as a 4-zone controller keyboard. Each zone can control an internal or external zone, or both simultaneously. Internal zones can be freely transposed (+/- 36), split, layered and velocity switched, as well as offering many other editable parameters. Faders control a zone's volume in real time.

Control Knobs

With 4 real time control knobs you can adjust the keyboard's EQ, effects and sound parameters, or send MIDI control change commands to external devices.

Reverb & Effects

The MP6 comes with a host of studio quality reverbs and digital effects, from chorus, flanger and delay, to distortion and rotary speaker.

256 Setups

Settings and assignments for all four zones can be saved into any one of 256 User Setups for instant recall during a performance.

Jacks

Both the 3 MIDI jacks and USB jack are useful for connecting with other musical instruments and computers. USB can also be used to save and record user data as well as MIDI song data. The instrument also has stereo Line Out jacks along with connections for an assignable footswitch and an expression pedal.

Headphone Jack

A headphone jack allows the player to listen to the instrument in privacy.

Pedals

Included with the MP6 is the F10H damper (with half-dampering) pedal . The F20 damper (with half-dampering) and soft pedal assembly is available as an option.

Music Rack

A heavy duty metal rack, which conveniently mounts on top of the instrument, is also included.
