Nord Modular G2X Synthesizer Information, Specifications and Resources

Author: Andy Merrett / Data Driven

Overview

The Nord Modular G2X is a synthesizer released in 2004. It is aimed at musicians wanting to create and modify their own sounds.

The Modular G2X has 61 semi-weighted full sized keys with touch sensitivity and aftertouch. It has 32 notes of polyphony. It has hundreds of on board sounds but no acoustic piano sounds. It does have other real world sounds though, and sustain/damper and soft pedals.

It has built-in MIDI capabilities. It has no built-in learning system. It has no built-in speakers which means you will have to connect it to external amplification and speakers in order to hear it. It runs from AC power.

Description

The Nord Modular G2 concept is based on a stand-alone hardware with a freely configurable synthesis architecture, and a software editor. A G2 sound is made with virtual modules and cables and can be modeled after an existing synth or it can be the synthesizer of your dreams by simply ‘drag & drop’ modules and cables directly on the computer screen to create your sounds.
