Roland RD-2000 EX Digital Piano Information, Specifications and Resources
Author: Andy Merrett / Data Driven
Overview
The Roland RD-2000 EX is a digital piano released in 2024. It is aimed at those primarily wanting a quality piano sound and keyboard feel.
The RD-2000 EX has 88 fully weighted full sized keys with touch sensitivity but no aftertouch. It has 256 notes of polyphony, which is excellent for a digital piano. It has hundreds of on board sounds including pianos and real world sounds, accompaniments and rhythms, and sustain/damper and soft pedals.
The RD-2000 EX uses Roland's SuperNATURAL Behavior Modeling Synthesis engine, which blends samples and physical behavior models for very natural acoustic/electronic tones. It also uses PCM, a classic wave-based synthesis offering basic sampled sound playback.
It has the ability to record and play back user performances. It has built-in MIDI capabilities. It has no built-in learning system. It has no built-in speakers which means you will have to connect it to external amplification and speakers in order to hear it. It runs from AC power. It's a part of the RD family of instruments.
