Description

Natural acoustic touch and sound in a slim and portable package

The Yamaha P-125a is a compact digital piano that combines incredible piano performance with a user-friendly minimalistic design. Easily portable and extremely accessible, the P-125a is always ready to perform whenever – or wherever – you are.

Authentic piano performance

The P-125a allows for incredible dynamics and expressiveness.

The Pure CF Sound Engine includes the sound of the renowned Yamaha CFIIIS 9' concert grand piano. It is the result of over a century of acoustic piano craftsmanship combined with state-of-the-art technology and expertise.

In addition, the Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) 88-key piano keyboard provides a heavier touch in the low end and lighter touch in the high end so it can be played with the expressiveness of an acoustic piano.

Immersive grand piano sound

When a grand piano is played, the entire instrument resonates, extending the sound both upward and downward. The P-125a is designed to recreate this sonic experience so that the sound surrounds you as you play.

The speakers for the higher register are crisp and responsive, making it easy to perform classical music as well as jazz, pop, and other genres where the sound needs to hit hard and fast. The speakers for the low register emit deep, rich sound that make you feel like you're playing a much larger instrument. We optimized the balance between these two-way speakers to achieve clear sound quality and stereophonic resonance from attack to decay in all registers.

Accessorize for portability and for home

Dress up your P-125a for home by adding the matching wooden furniture stand and grand-piano style 3-pedal system. And for when you're ready to take this portable piano out to jam with friends, or play anywhere away from home, we offer a custom soft case that helps keep your instrument safe.

Simple operation and practice features using the Smart Pianist app

Smart Pianist allows you to control the many functions included in your Yamaha digital piano with your smart device. Voices, rhythms, and other settings can be selected through the familiar touch screen of your phone or tablet, making it easy to get the results you're looking for from your piano.

You can also use the Chord Analysis feature to learn how to play the chords of your favorite songs. The app analyzes songs in your smart devices' music library, and displays their chord symbols.

In addition, you can download** for free the 303 PDF scores of famous methods, such as Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny, and Hanon and practice exercises on Smart Pianist.

All of the convenience and benefits of going digital

The main functions - volume control, metronome, recording and Voice control - are presented in a simple, elegant interface, making them easy for everyone to understand and operate.

The P125a comes equipped with 20 preset rhythms including pop, jazz and Latin. Play along at your desired tempo to make playing solo more fun than ever. You’ll also enjoy the useful Dual Voice and Split Keyboard functions. If you’d like to escape the distractions of the outside world, connect your favorite headphones and immerse yourself in the music.

The Table EQ function optimizes the sound when the P-125a is played on top of a desk or table, delivering crystal-clear piano tone even without the dedicated stand.

Modern Design

The P-125a has a simple, refined appearance balanced exquisitely with an elegance befitting traditional acoustic pianos. The tasteful, minimalist design not only blends in naturally with contemporary spaces, but is accented by carefully appointed details that make the instrument easier to play and operate.

FAQ

What do the sounds on the P-125a most resemble?

Although not direct copies, some of the sounds seem to be based on other keyboards and synths, though not explicitly named. The Stage E. Piano is like a Fender Rhodes, the DX E. Piano like the Yamaha DX7, the vintage e. piano like a Wurlitzer, Jazz Organ like Hammond B3, E. Clavichord like the Hohner Clavinet. That said, the quality is not always great, as the instrument is primarily a piano.
