Overview
The Yamaha PS-55 is a home keyboard released in 1983. It is marketed primarily to home musicians.
The PS-55 has 49 synth/organ style full sized keys without touch sensitivity or aftertouch. It has nine notes of polyphony. It has 32 on board sounds including pianos and real world sounds, accompaniments and rhythms, and a sustain/damper pedal.
The PS-55 uses Yamaha's Phase Alignment Stereo Sampling, for improved stereo sample imaging with o-point filtering. It also uses PCM, a classic wave-based synthesis offering basic sampled sound playback.
