KORG has announced a trio of modular versions of popular synths in its range, namely the modwave module, opsix module and wavestate module.
All available as 19-inch desktop/rackmount modules, they have the same functionality as their keyboard equivalents but for a new audience who want the experience in a different form factor.
wavestate Module
wavestate came onto the scene in 2020 and was updated with a second version last year. It’s all about wave sequencing, creating ever-changing sounds with extensive hands-on control.
Responding to user requests, KORG has updated all LFOs with options for free running, delayed start, and retriggering, added new modulation sources, and more. A software update will also be available for the original wavestate.
With the latest software updates, all models of wavestate, hardware and software, now support MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange. Hundreds of the original factory sounds have been updated to include Polyphonic Aftertouch modulation (Channel Aftertouch is supported as well). All of this makes the wavestate module an excellent companion to KORG’s Keystage controller.

opsix Module
opsix has just had a version two revamp this year, and the modular version brings MIDI 2.0 and polyphonic aftertouch.

modwave Module
modwave got an update last summer and the modular version has all of its features in this convenient form factor.
All other specifications are the same as their previous models, and where features have been upgraded, they will also be available as software/firmware upgrades.
