Korg modwave mkII wavetable synth now available

Korg has announced the second version of its modwave wavetable synth, sporting almost double the polyphony, expanded free-running LFOs, and more.

modwave mkII continues to build on the DW-8000 and features deep wavetable oscillators, filters, flexible modulation, massive polyphony, comprehensive pattern sequencing, and satisfying hands-on control for unique, powerful and easily customisable sounds and phrases.

modwave has two new tools for creating dynamic motion: Kaoss Physics, which combines an x/y Kaoss pad with modulatable game physics to create responsive, interactive controller, and Motion Sequencing 2.0 which brigs organic, continuously evolving patterns into the world of motion sequencing, including multiple lanes and real-time recording to help in the creation of complex, evolving phrases quite unlike anything other step sequencers can produce.

There are hundreds of preset sounds empowered by this new architecture, organized by front-panel category buttons, and all instantly customizable via the four Mod Knobs. modwave’s distinctive wavetable timbres start with aggressive basses & leads, and lush ambient pads which will add a new dimension to your tracks.

The mkII modwave has 60 voices of polyphony, updated LFOs to include options for free running, delayed start and retriggering. There’s also a pre/post switch for reverb sends, new modulation sources, and more.
