Foldable music keyboards don’t always exude a feeling of quality or features, a sentiment KORG is hoping to overturn with the launch of its nanoKEY Fold MIDI keyboard.
The size of a smartphone (147 × 73 × 17 mm / 5.79″ × 2.87″ × 0.67″ when folded and 282 × 73 × 14 mm / 11.10″ × 2.87″ × 0.55″ when unfolded), the nanoKEY Fold has a range of features and control options and is designed for capturing inspiration on the go.
Features
Features include:
- Silent keyed: membrane keyboard buttons designed to provide a comfortable action yet remaining silent. Thirteen different velocity levels make customisation to playing style simple.
- Scale guide: 15 built in scales and “Easy Scale” mode ensures you only play notes from a particular scale, or use the touch slider to play within the scale in creative ways.
- Chord mode: Chords can be assigned to each key based on the current scale and key.
- Arpeggiator: The inbuilt arpeggiator has a wide range of types and rhythm patterns which can be modified using dedicated controls.
- Touch sliders: Pitch and modulation sliders can also be assigned to specific CC values or directly play notes from the selected scale.
- Split function: Even on such a small keyboard, the split function can be used to assign and play different modes on each half of the keyboard.
- Compatibility: USB-C and TRS-MIDI compatible for connection to smartphones, tablets, computers, and legacy MIDI-equipped instruments.
- Instant Scene Switch Recall: Save settings as scenes for instant recall whenever desired.
- Five colors: Available in five body colors: black, white, sand beige, alpine green and lava orange.
- Bundled software: Izotope software including “Ozone Elements”, Skoove for learning keyboard skills, and software synths from KORG and others.
