With more than a passing nod to the vintage and relaunched Suzuki Omnichord, but with a few tricks of its own, comes the nearly pocket-sized Minichord from Seeed Studio. This is an open-source project, and as well as purchasing a complete unit it’s possible to download instructions and source parts yourself in order to build your own instrument.
It features 21 main chord buttons for easy selection of major, minor and 7th chords, as well as other combinations.
The harp touch zone is divided into 12 sections which enable users to trigger different notes or ‘strum’ entire chords.
Twelve internal presets and custom presets are available, and there is extensive MIDI support via USB.
