ModBap Modular has announced the second incarnation of the Trinity digital drum synth array for Eurorack will be shipping in February.
The compact 20HP design has some innovative features including six different drum synth algorithms, including ORB and CLANG, plus enhanced connectivity and expanded control options.
Each of the three independent drum channels offers a wide range of sound design possibilities, with seven main controls for shaping tone, pitch and texture, plus extensive CV and USB-C MIDI inputs.
The Trinity 2.0 unit incorporates advanced present management, with 12 customisable presets — four per channel — a MIDI-based 12-pad finger drumming mode, and the capability to select presets via CV.
Legacy features are preserved — Cycle Modes and Stack Modes.
Drum Synth Algorithms include the analog inspired BLOCK, the additive HEAP, NEON FM drum engine, ARCADE noise generator, ORB modal synthesis and Clang metallic FM/RM.
Cycle modes can be enabled or disabled per channel. Round Robin switches between each drum synth type sequentially with each new trigger to the drum channel, which Random mode generates a new random drum sound with each new trigger.
Stack modes group the channels together, allowing two or three drum channels to be triggered by the primary channel’s trigger and v/oct inputs.
The MIDI Finger Drumming Mode allows control of drum voices and presets using an external MIDI pad controller connected via USB-C.
