Museum gets piano of jazz legend Coltrane

A piano that once belonged to jazz legend John Coltrane will return to this town where he lived as a child.

Coltrane was born in Hamlet in 1926 and later lived in High Point. He and family members played the piano in their home here.

He moved to Philadelphia after graduating from William Penn High School in High Point in 1943, and later brought the piano with him.
