Nord has announced the latest in its line of glorious red pianos, with the launch of the Nord Piano 6. As per Piano 5, which came out last year, version six is available in both 88 and 73 key models.
Standout features include a new panel design with LED faders, dual layers for piano and synth with independent effects, and a premium Triple Sensor Hammer Action keybed.
As usual, Nord puts the most important controls a player needs on their own physical knobs and buttons, so you don’t have to fiddle about in menus when you’re trying to perform or record.
The dual piano and synth engines can be layered or split across the keyboard, and each has its own dedicated effects section.
Sounds include a wide range of grands, uprights and electrics from the Nord Piano Library, with new features such as dynamic compression and unison.
There’s a sample synth section featuring two independent layers, with a broad collection of new and updated sounds including strings, wind, brass, basses, guitars, classic analog leads and basses. The factory presets include high-end samples from Spitfire, Symphobia and Swing.
The Sample Synth section provides two fully-featured and independent Layers equipped with intuitive controls for attack, decay/sustain, release and dynamic velocity response.
Effects include brand new types of reverb, delay, amps and modulation.
