Spectrasonics has announced the launch of the third version of its Omnisphere flagship synth software.
Omnisphere 3 features thousands of new sounds, faster access, but with the same size as before.
There are now 18 libraries covering thousands of creative and inspiring sounds from the Spectrasonics sound design team, including:
- Warm Tones
- Electronic Production
- Analog Vibes
- Club Land
- Retro Vibes
- Hard Edges
- Classic Digital
- Instruments Collection

Libraries have been curated so it’s easier to quickly find the sounds you need. The original Omnisphere patches have been remastered and refreshed with the latest version 3 features and effects. Thanks to new lossless optimisation technology, the version 3 library takes no more hard drive space than Omnisphere 2.
Adaptive global controls allow for the customisation of the overall sound of a patch, with tweaks for tone, ambience, filter, envelope, vibrato and unison. Smart controls automatically analyse the patch so they always work with musical results.
Patch Mutations allow for the instant creation of fascinating and useful variations of any patch, be that subtle or extreme.
Other new features include:
- Quadzone modulation
- 36 new filter types
- Circuit Modelled Saturation
- Dual Frequency Shifter
- Vintage Oscillator Drift
- Fresh EDM Wavetables
- Unison Phase Scatter
- Classic Glide Modes
- 35 effects units
- Polyphonic Expression (MPE)
Omnisphere 3 also expands its hardware integration capabilities, extended to work with every major brand of synth and MIDI controller. Over 300 new hardware profiles are included.
Available now priced at $499 ($199 upgrade / $249 Atmosphere upgrade).
