Reloop has announced the launch of its Keypad Pro workstation aimed at mobile music producers, but equally at home in any studio setup.
This compact controller features a mini master keyboard, drum pads, mixer unit, and DAW controls making it a tiny powerhouse for those wanting to get ideas down and work with their music on the go.
It offers full integration with the Bigwig Studio DAW (not Ableton, for change) although it should be usable with any DAW via MIDI. MIDI comms can be achieved via the wired connection or wirelessly over Bluetooth.
The device features 25 mini keys which can be transposed across nine octaves, 16 velocity-sensitive drum pads with aftertouch and RGB lighting, eight channel strips with line faders, various potentiometers and function buttons. DAW transport controls are on board, along with faders and various mode buttons.
Interestingly, there’s no mention made of the sensitivity of the keys themselves — whether there is velocity sensitivity or any form of aftertouch — although it would be unusual to not have at least initial touch sensitivity.
