bjango has announced the availability of its Robot Rocket ’90s-inspired classic vocoder audio unit, offering two modes including retro and modern modes.
Retro mode has been designed to sound very familiar, and features various programs including TalkBox, NuVo, and TazMania.
Modern mode offers more controls for diversifying the output. It includes a quality setting for improving smoothness and intelligibility, control pitch shifting, crush of bit depth and sample rate, and low and high pass filtering.
Robot Rocket can automatically switch between the synth input and white noise for sibilant sounds. This can improve the intelligibIlity of the output. Alternatively, using white noise all the time makes the vocoder sound as if it’s whispering.
The cost is $39 ($29 at launch).
