Not long after Stylophone announced the CPM DS-2 drone synth, they’re teasing with another new instrument — the CPM DF-8 compact portable modular analog dynamic multifilter.
The unit is a smooth discrete analog recreation of a 2045 (24 dB/oct) LP filter and a proprietary analog GEN R-8 (12 dB/oct) filter with LP, BP, HP and NOTCH modes.
Combining the two brings three filter types: a bandpass BP+, phaser-like band reject (BR+) and a wide notch filter (NOTCH+).
Each of the two filter channels has all eight filter types and are controlled by two full ADSR envelopes with multiple trigger modes. They can be triggered by gate signal, audio signal threshold, or manual trigger button, and can be auto-repeated in a loop acting as LFOs.
Also there are two built-in white noise sources, S&H modulation source with slew, and a PT2399 delay.
Truly portable, it can run from batteries, PSU or Eurorack. It has stereo line out, stereo phones out and a compact 2W built-in speaker.
Release date is expected to be sometime in mid-2025, pricing to be confirmed.
