AudioThing has announced the availability of its SX1000 plugin, which faithfully recreates the JEN SX1000 Synthetone Italian synth from the late 1970s.
The SX1000’s M110 chip has been faithfully emulated, as well as expanding capabilities by adding features such as a polyphonic mode, sub-oscillator, additional controls for legato modes, an arpeggiator, and four effects with flexible routing.
The JEN SX1000 Synthetone is an analog monophonic synth from 1978. Its single oscillator is capable of sawtooth, square and pulse waveforms, as well as a noise generator with white and pink sources. The filter section features a 24dB/octave resonant LPF, and there’s an LFO for vibrato, tremolo or filter modulation. Much of this has been expanded upon as additional features.
The arpeggiator is modelled on the Roland Juno 60 and features various direction modes, 4 octave range, adjustable rate/sync, hold/latch, note order and chord mode.
Effects are tape echo, spring reverb, wave folder and flanger.
Available in various formats so can be used on Mac, Windows, Linux and iOS devices.
