TempoKEY K32 Play MIDI controller keyboard from Synido launched

Honestly, I’ve not heard of the Synido brand until today, but perhaps that’s not too surprising as they’re a young company (launched in 2021), with a mission to building a series of voice and live audio products, particularly aimed at younger and beginning musicians and content creators.

So their latest offering, the TempoKEY K32 Play, is a MIDI controller keyboard which sits alongside their smaller TempoKEY K25, offering not simply control but also built-in sounds.

Decked out in purple, it features 32 mini keys with velocity sensitivity, but no aftertouch (not something you’d expect in this price range), plus 128 instruments and 10 drum kits, a speaker, and Bluetooth MIDI.

It’s aimed at those who want portability and simplicity, so while it has some nice features, it’s probably not going to rival some of the more expensive controller keyboards — and we wouldn’t expect it to.

What it’s designed for is on-the-move idea sketching, practice, and lightweight home production.

It’s marketed primarily as a MIDI controller, so to that end it features eight assignable knobs, eight velocity sensitive backlit pads, full customisation of CC/program change messages, and aftertouch on the pads.

There’s also preset saving, arpeggiator, note repeat function, and a touch strip which can be used for pitch bend and modulation. The OLED display shows parameters and MIDI messages in real time.

Connections wise, there’s USB C for computer and mobile devices, 3.5mm headphone jack, and MIDI In/Out via TRS if Bluetooth isn’t your bag.
