AudioThing has announced the availability of the second version of its Orb formant filter plugin, which first launched several years ago, that simulates the characteristics of the human voice, notably vowel sounds.

The Orb 2 can transform any sound into a vowel-like formant-filtered sound, using three band pass filters, three LFOs, emphasis and resonance settings, and drift.
The interface is a circle split into sectors, each representing a vowel sound. The distance from the centre of the orb to a dot placed in any sector represents the emphasis/resonance for each formant filter, while the angle represents the amount of drift to be added or subtracted from each vowel formant. Custom vowels can be added and edited.
A demo is available, the whole plugin is available now.
