Traveler hybrid synth gets first update to 1.1.0

In under a month since the Traveler cinematic hybrid synth launched it has already received its first update, based on the developers (KeySolutions Sounds) listening to feedback from its early adopter users.

Traveler

Improvements include the much requested additional modulation destinations, so Traveler 1.1 now has 50 more, bringing the total to 144, and it’s easier to make and understand those assignments and how they affect a particular patch.

Another update is to wavetables. On the original software version, all the wavetables were shown on a single list. V1.1 introduces a full wavetable browser to more easily find all the factory and user wavetables, categorised by their general type. Each wavetable gives you a visual idea of their harmonic content, can be added to a favourites list, and auditioned.

User wavetable imports keep whatever folder structure was on the computer file system, and they can either remain in their original place on the computer (good if you want to use them with other apps and plugins) or fully imported into Traveler.

It bodes well that the developers are spending time in the online community, genuinely listening to feedback and requests, and swiftly implementing updates. More please!

Feature List

Here’s the release full release notes:

  • New wavetable browser. Explore your library with 3D previews, folder navigation, search, Favorites, and Recent selections. Preview waveforms without changing your sound, and revert easily after trying a different table.
  • Expanded wavetable support. Import Surge-format .wt files and organize your collection with drag-and-drop files and folders. Large imports now run in the background with progress feedback.
  • More efficient wavetable libraries. Support for up to 4,096 tables, with reduced memory use through on-demand loading and shared wavetable data across instances.
  • Graphical envelope editing. Shape all three envelopes directly in the display by dragging stage times, levels, and curves, with fine adjustment for precise control.
  • Expanded modulation. Now with 144 modulation destinations. New destinations cover oscillator detune and spread, filter envelope amounts, LFO controls, delay and reverb parameters, arpeggiator timing, and envelope levels and curves.
  • Faster modulation routing. Right-click a parameter to assign an available modulation bus or jump to an existing route. Clearer menus, depth readouts, and visual indicators make modulation easier to follow.
  • More expressive MIDI control. Use Release Velocity and directly enter MIDI CC numbers to control modulation routes.
  • Improved preset organization. Custom libraries save into matching folders, the browser remembers your place, and Favorites stay synchronized across Traveler instances.
  • Improved accessibility. More descriptive screen-reader labels and expanded keyboard navigation throughout the interface and preset browser.
  • Improved compatibility. Refined integration with DAW session recall, host automation, and controller workflows, including Ableton Live and Bitwig Studio on Windows.

And you still have time to catch the introductory pricing of $99 (ends 30th September) or “rent to own” instalment plan.
