When comparing digital pianos it can be difficult to determine what the exact differences are, especially between two models from the same manufacturer which at first glance appear to be very similar.
This is true of the Yamaha PSR-EW320 of 2023, and the YPT-W320 (not to be confused with the silver 61-key YPT-320 from 2010). In fact, I hadn’t even seen the YPT-W30 being launched, although the first search result did turn up the Yamaha UK rather than the US website, so perhaps it was a regional thing.
Anyway, I’ve seen people asking about the differences, so let’s dive in.
Specification Comparison
Let’s cut right to it — the only obvious differences between the two Yamaha keyboards is aesthetic.
Both keyboards are black but one has a silver-backed control panel, the other maintains the black colouring. The layouts are near-identical but some of the button shaping is different.
Specs wise, both feature:

according to Yamaha’s own product pages. In fact, it’s virtually copy-pasted between the two pages, with just the product name and images changed.
So, as is the way with many incarnations of models within a particular brand (or similar branding), it comes down to how it looks, not how it performs. Everything else is identical.
As to whether you should purchase one of these? They’re modern, reasonably decent entry-level machines coming in at around the $300 price point. Having the 76 keys is a nice touch but they are not fully weighted so you won’t get the full acoustic piano style feeling. They would make a decent child’s keyboard as they’re not too expensive but have a good amount of features for the money.
