Yamaha has announced an all-in-one music creation station designed for composing and performing electronic music. The compact SEQTRAK controller allows users to capture ideas quickly, create original music using its versatile sound and sample engines, and offers a host of performance and connectivity options.
Two well-known, tried and tested sound engines — AWM2 and FM — are on board to offer a range of sounds with 128 note polyphony on AWM2 and a four-operator FM engine. There’s over 2,000 presets on board, including pianos, synths and drums, and additionally a sampler with seven sound slots, plus customisable effects and digital recording at 44.1kHz/16-bit quality.
Preset sounds can be edited in depth if desired, there’s a visualiser mode for adding video, and content management functions. It has a built-in speaker and microphone and rechargeable battery. The accompanying app for Mac/PC, iOS and Android, allows a lot of this functionality to be used.
It’s available in black or orange with a retail price of $599.
