Can I do anything with a Yamaha PSR-12?

Probably, but to be honest too many of these things are getting carved up for projects. Play it and enjoy it like it is.

I betcha more of them end up in landfills than get modified or circuit-bent. It’s just that the people trashing them don’t talk about it on the internet.

In all seriousness, these kinds of cheap keyboards that straddle the line between toy and instrument were produced by the thousand, were designed primarily to hit a certain price point, and are of no great value (either practical or historical) in their original state. I say carve away.
