Overview

The Roland V-Piano is a digital piano released in 2010. It is aimed at those primarily wanting a quality piano sound and keyboard feel.

The V-Piano has 88 fully weighted full sized keys with touch sensitivity but no aftertouch. It has 264 notes of polyphony, which is excellent for a digital piano. It has 128 on board sounds including pianos and real world sounds, and a sustain/damper pedal.

It has the ability to record and play back user performances. It has built-in MIDI capabilities. It has no built-in learning system. It has no built-in speakers which means you will have to connect it to external amplification and speakers in order to hear it. It runs from AC power.

New PHA-III Ivory Feel keyboard

Even the most demanding pianist will appreciate the V-Piano’s new PHA-III Ivory Feel keyboard with Escapement This advanced keyboard technology reproduces the real feel of ivory for the natural keys and ebony for the sharps, and provides a true grand-piano touch and response. Even the subtle click feel when the “hammer” is released from the key (escapement) is reproduced.

Friendly Complexity

High technology doesn’t have to equate to high complexity for the pianist. With its clean control panel and logically designed user interface, the V-Piano is amazingly fast and friendly to navigate. Even deep-level editing is easy to access and understand. You’ll be customizing and creating new sounds within minutes of first touching the instrument.

The V-Piano Evolution system upgrade adds four new piano models

The V-Piano Evolution newly adds two Vintage Type piano models: Vertical (warm upright-piano model), V1 “Impactance” (Vintage 1 piano equipped with heavier hammers for more power and energy), and two Vanguard Type: Triple Large (featuring triple copper-wrapped strings for each key with a newlyextended piano body), and Metallic SB (based on the previous “All Silver” model with a new virtual soundboard made of thin metal boards sandwiched between thin wooden boards for a unique metallic tonal character). For the V-Piano owners, the System updater is downloadable from the Downloads page.
