The RadioPhonic Synth uniquely created for Hans Zimmer

Legendary musician and producer Hans Zimmer commissioned AJH Synth to create a one-of-a-kind analogue modular synthesiser, to be installed at the new Radiophonic workshop Hans is to create at Maida Vale Studios in London.

Despite it being Zimmer’s own project, he has allowed AJH Synth to produce a limited number of exact recreations of the RadioPhonic synth, individually numbered. System Number One was launched at Superbooth 24 in Berlin back in the spring.

The enclosure is made from selected American Walnut and Cherry hardwoods, echoing the EMS VCS3 case but with an aspect ratio altered to suit the modules chosen. Two 3U racks in both the top and bottom sections offers 136hp of rack space. The sections are separated with an ebony hardwood strip.
