Knobula Pianophonic 8 Voice Multi-Oscillator Wavetable Synth has landed

This month has seen Knobula’s latest Eurorack-friendly synth, the Pianophonic, land and be ready for sales. This eight-voice multi-oscillator wavetable synthesiser is a hybrid combining multi-oscillator synthesis with the percussive detail of sampled sounds.

Its eight polyphony voices are not limited to piano sounds, despite the name, and is highly versatile and easy to use. Essential controls are laid out on the front panel and the most significant CV inputs and outputs provide full integration in Eurorack patches.

It takes inspiration from ’90s wavetable/sampler keyboards, but boasts 24-bit 48kHz quality and fingertip control of essential parameters.

It has a built-in SD card and the Knobula re-synthesiser utility Waveslicer, allowing for users to create their own wavetables, hammers and sound banks.

Pianophonic can be connected to a MIDI keyboard controller or sequencer to be played polyphonically, or alternatively connected to a CV and Gate source to play single notes monophonically or play massive polyphonic chord stacks.

Main Features:

  • 3 Wavetable Oscillators per voice.
  • 1 Sample playback engine per voice.
  • 16 wavetable and sample parts provided on SD card.
  • 8 chord memories selectable by CV or midi. • Detune from unison to 5th to sub-octave.
  • Stereo DJ filter.
