Yamaha has announced the latest model in its P series of digital pianos, designed with portability and ease of use in mind.
The instrument’s two main piano voices are taken from two world-class acoustic concert grand pianos, the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. Yamaha claims that the variety and quality of its voices, including organs and electric pianos, along with the speaker output, is superior even to the previously launched P-515.
The P-525 has a wooden keyboard, upgraded from the NWX keyboard previously used to a GrandTouch-S keyboard, which is supposed to enhance the playing experience even further. Naturally it’s a full size, 88 key instrument. This type of keyboard is also used on Yamaha’s top-flight Clavinova digital pianos, with claims that it’s the closest one can get to the feel of an acoustic grand piano. The solid wooden keys are laminated to make them warp resistant and durable.
As well as the piano sounds, there are improved organs, electric pianos, and other keyboard instrument presets. A registration memory function allows for saving and recalling of settings, useful for live performances. Other features include rhythms, metronome, sound boost and adjustable EQ, binaural sampling which improves the sound when using headphones, and Bluetooth audio and MIDI.
