Rocksmith+ Piano Beta music learning software launches on PC

Ubisoft has announced that its Rocksmith+ music-learning service, which up until now has focused on students wishing to self-learn guitar, has had piano lessons added to it.

During the beta test period, users can start learning the piano for free. The first 5,000 new users who register will receive one month free of Rocksmith+, while all current subscribers automatically gain access to the piano beta.

Much like the guitar version, the piano version uses hit songs from popular artists, gives personalised real-time feedback on playing, and offers practice tools controllable by the user.

Just added are songs from the likes of Coldplay, Misfits, Fear Factory, and Lily Allen. This is most likely possible thanks to the recent partnership struck up with Warner Music Group, although it’s not clear how many of these new additions will be available for the piano version of Rocksmith+. We also don’t know if the mobile app version will be upgraded to include piano lessons.

The full software is expected to launch this winter, with the signup period for the beta version ending on 10th November. The promo video is below, which doesn’t tell you anything not already mentioned here but does attempt to be cool with lots of budding musicians (models) tinkering with musical instruments.
